Packaging Testing Machines
Digital Box Compression Tester
The Box Compression Test measures the compressive strength of packages such as boxes, drums, and cans. It usually provides a plot of deformation vs compressive force.
It is commonly used to evaluate shipping containers made of corrugated fiberboard as well as wooden boxes and crates. Industrial and consumer packages other than boxes can also be subjected to compression testing: drum, pail, bottle, tub, etc. Package components are also evaluated for compression resistance.
Method of conducting the test as described in several published standard test methods is to compress a box at a constant rate of 1/2 inch (12.5 mm) per minute between two rigid platens. The test can be conducted on empty or filled boxes, with or without a box closure. Conditioning to standard temperature and humidity is important.
The results of the constant rate of compression test can be:
• The peak load
• The deformation at peak load
• The load at a critical deformation (head space, etc.)
• The ability of a container to protect the contents from compression damage

Digital Bursting Strength Tester Model BST - D3
Bursting Strength is a reliable index of the strength and performance of materials like paper, paperboards, corrugated boards and boxes etc.
Bursting Strength Tester is ideal for testing a wide range of materials to determine their quality, strength and performance. Bursting Strength Tester is easy to operate.
Bursting Strength Tester Model BST - D3-P
Bursting strength is a widely used measure of resistance to rupture in various materials. A test specimen isheld between two circular clamps and subjected to an increasing pressure from a rubber diaphragm.
The rubber diaphragm is expanded by a controlled hydraulic pressure until the test specimen ruptures. The bursting strength of The specimen is the pressure reading at the time of rupture.
Bursting Strength Tester Model S1/S2
The Bursting Strength of sample is measured by applying the hydrostatic pressure required for producing rupture of the material, when pressure is applied at a controlled increasing rate through a rubber diaphragm. The value of bursting strength will give an indication of the maximum weight that may be carried in the box. The quality of corrugated boxes is graded based on the value of their bursting strength.
Bursting Strength is a reliable index of the strength and performance of materials like paper, paperboards, corrugated boards and boxes, solid fibreboards, filter cloth, industrial fabrics, leather, Rexene, etc
Cobb Tester
The test is used for determining liquid absorptiveness or resilience of treated and untreated papers, boards, fabrics and other sheet materials.
The test consists of a test apparatus, its 10- kg roller and blotting paper. The roller method is recommended to insure better consistency and reliability that can be obtained by manual blotting or rubbing the specimen.
Core Comperssion Tester
The core compression strength of core pipes is the maximum compressive force that a test piece collapses under constant load.
Pneumatically operated piston to apply the pressure. Maximum pressure to crush the test sample recorded on a gauge with peak pointer.
Has adjustable testing area to accommodate specimen sizes and shapes.
Digital GSM Tester
This equipment measures and directly indicates substance of paper and paperboards in terms of grams per sq. meter. It displays gsm of samples cut selected to size on a digital indicator.
Has printer port facility for printing and data transfer.
Digital Moisture Meter (Model-GANN)
Microprocessor based pocket type Moisture meter with LCD display and rugged housing so that the pins on the end of the instrument can be pressed into the material to be measured .
LCD Display Measuring Range : 0 to 90%
Accuracy : + 1%
Electrode Length : 8mm
Replace able Operating Voltage : Battery 9 V
Dimension : L140 X W90 X H50 mm
Weight : 220 gms.
Application: Wooden Boards, Card Board, Paper, Corrugated Box, etc.
Package include - Instrument, 9V Battery, spare pins 2 set, protective cover.
Rub Resistance Tester / Scuff Tester
This equipment is intended to evaluate the Rub Proofness of prints on paper or board. It can also be used to measure / evaluate Colour Transfer from printed / coated surface during rubbing. The application can be extended for measurement of abrasion resistance of some Plastic materials / Aluminum Foils.
Principle :
In this machine, 2 samples of the same substrate are rubbed against each other in the same plane, under a constant pressure of 2 p.s.i and at a fixed speed of 60 RPM. The number of rubs are recorded using a non-contact type digital counter.
Inference :
This machine works as a great comparator of the variations in print quality between various batchesor various suppliers
Higher Rub Resistance = better print quality.
Lower Rub Resistance = poor print quality.
Puncture Resistance Tester
The specimen is clamped on a fixture and is pierced with the help of a pendulum released from 90 Degree position. The pendulum head is made pointed in a pyramid shape. Different weights are provided in the pendulum for different scales.
A pointer is fitted in the pendulum which gives the reading in a calibrated scale.
Puncture Resistance Testing is used for all kinds of paper, paper-board, solid fiber boards & corrugated boards boxes.
Tear Resistance Tester
The equipment is designed to directly read gF (TearForce) per one piece. The Tear Force thus obtained can be converted into Tear Energy, Tear Index or Tear Factor by applying appropriate formula.
Dart Impact Tester
An equipment to test the quality of film / laminate in respect of its resistance to rupture due to sudden Impact.
Pouch Burst Tester
Electro-Pneumatic model with constant rate of travel.
Suitable for testing the Seal Integrity of Liquid / Gas Filled - Pouches / Saches / Blisterpacks.
Suitable for 3 ml – 1,500 ml or larger packs.
